BRIARWOOD IS MOVING!!
The farm is moving and making things better. We are converting an old horse barn into our house and gaining 4 acres. It will be a lengthy process, but it will be worth it in the end. Hopefully I can post some pictures as we go along.
We have a new pygmy billy added to the crew, Shadow is a spunky little guy with lots of attitude. He should give us some colorful pygora kids !
Nothing for sale right now. We are taking some birds to a show in Lebanon, Indiana in mid-October, and hope to sell some odds and ends there.
The rabbits are doing well. Steph is concentrating on Jersy Woolies now instead of angoras. They are a little less high maintenace, but still alot of brushing.
Well, just keeping you updated. email us with any questions or comments.

Fall Is Here

BriarWood is winding down for the upcoming winter. The kids just went back to school and are kind of excited. The day care is booming and the children are loving the cooler afternoons especially the outdoor playtime.
Not much happening on the animal front. We still have one angora wether to sell and we've lowered his price to $45. If you want one for fiber, he's adorable! Also we still have Rip, our angora billy. We've lowered him to $100 or trade for a registered pygmy billy. As for the birds, all we have left is one egyptian gander for sale. We are asking $50 for him or trade??
Steve and I are looking to expand the farm. We are looking into a 4acre plot to grow old on. I hope everything works out and we can get started soon. We'll keep you updated as things progress.
Drop us a line and leave some feedback. We'd like to know if our information is getting out there or if we need to do a web site????
On a sad note, our family just lost one of it's favorite members. My Uncle Richard passed away last week in Florida. Some of the family made it down to be with him at the end, but unfortunately we all couldn't be there. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tom and Jenny, we will all miss him terribly but his spirit will move on to greater things. All our love goes out to you.
So with that I close for today. Cross your fingers for Steve next week. He leaves for Vegas and the national pool tourney on Monday. Maybe his team will win big!!
Again, drop us a line. We love getting mail!!!

FAIR IS OVER!!

The Toy kids did a great job at the Warren County Fair. Mike took Reserve Sweepstakes Best in Show with his Burbon Red Turkey Tom and Champion Advanced Showmanship along with several other champion and reserve ribbons in Poultry. Steph did pretty well with her birds too, bringing home several ribbons. Rabbits did okay. Steph got one grand champion with her Jersy Wooly Jr. Buck. Mike got a reserve champion on his cookbook for Shooting Sports, "A Buzzard's Guide To Fine Dining" was a hit!!
Gardening and Flowers were really good projects this year and earned both kids a trip to the State Fair in August. And to top of the fair, Steph kicked booty in goats (FINALLY!). Her angora's took Sweepstakes AND Reserve Sweepstakes Specialty Doe's, Champion Jr. Doe, and 3rd Jr Wether. She also pulled out the Intermediate Showmanship plaque!! Go Stephy!!!
We sold the little doe kid at the fair to a fellow 4Her. We still have the wether for $75 and our 3yr billy for $150. Call us at 765-762-2554.
Most of our chickens are going to auction on Friday, but we will still be raising silkies, buff orpingtons, naked necks and salmon favorelle bantams.
Blog the kids and tell them what a good job they did at the fair, and wish them luck at the State Fair in August!! Pictures posted soon.
